FRIENDS OF THE HOMER LIBRARY Our mission is to provide support for the Homer Public Library programs and services, to raise funds that enrich the library experience, and to promote the use and enjoyment of the library. |
Who are we? We're like you, really. We love books. We love community. We love what happens when you put books and community together...a library that is the hearth and heart of our town and the surrounding areas. Friends of the Homer Library's mission is to provide volunteer support for library programs and services, to raise funds that enrich the library experience, and to promote the use and enjoyment of the library.
What does that mean exactly? Well one week it might mean hosting a civic event like Lunch with a Council member, another week it might mean offering Tech Help through our twice monthly drop in program. Sometimes it means you have an idea of something you would like to teach or learn about, and we work with you to find a time to offer an event.
We are working to create a culture of Lifelong Learning at the Homer Public Library. Every time you check out a book, attend a program, volunteer, or become a member of the Friends of the Homer Library, you are helping too.
